Pietro Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver, is a character appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He first appears in a mid-credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Pietro and his twin sister, Wanda, were orphans in Sokovia who were experimented on by HYDRA using the Mind Stone. This granted Pietro superhuman speed.
Quicksilver initially held resentment toward Tony Stark due to Stark Industries' weapons being used in the bombing that killed his parents. He and Wanda aligned with Ultron. However, they later switched allegiances to the Avengers upon realizing Ultron's genocidal intentions.
During the Battle of Sokovia in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Quicksilver uses his powers to protect Hawkeye and a child from Ultron's gunfire, sacrificing himself in the process. He is remembered as a hero.
